Well, the company didn't pay me anything to write a 5 stars review about this superpad (SP2).
It is a 5 stars because:
1, 2 X usb support for devices such as USB external hard drives. You need to format them to fat32 in order to have the SP2 recognize them. so what is good about having 2 USB ports? Well, It is easy to load (video) files into the device and this device support a lot of video format. Compared to an apple ipad, you need itunes sync and you need to convert the video before you sync, which is so complicated and time consuming.
-If you take a lot of photo, you can use these 2 USB ports to copy the pictures from the memory card to a high capacity external hard drive.
-You can add an usb keyboard to it to make it a laptop.
-You can charge your ipad with those USB ports.
2, 2 micro SD card slots, same as the above reason, easy files transfer between the SP2 and the PC or Mac. In other way, you can expand your memory, if you needed. TF card is cheap now a day.
3, 10 inches screen. The screen is not sharp at all, but its color is fine. The screen is essential similar to my old dell laptop, but with less resolution. If you watch movie half meter from it, the picture looks great.
4, Good speed. It say it has 1GHZ and 512mb ram, but in fact, only about 780mhz and 370mb ram according to my finding, but still the speed is good. I can watch 1280X720, 1.4GB and avi format HD video using it with no lagging, which is something I can't do with my old dell laptop.
5, Touch screen. It is not a capacitive touch screen. It is a resistive touch screen. Apple's ipad and iphone use the capacitive touch screen, and is considered a better and newer kinda of touch screen. So what is the difference? A cap. screen is more responsive that uses skin of your finger to point; and a resistive touch screen is less responsive that uses your finger nail to point. Once you get used to it, both screen works fine.
6, Price>Cheap; Works>Fine;Built>Solid; And it is Made in China.
Great device to watch HD MOVIE; Not that great for internet browsing; The APPs in android market place, I will rated them 2/5 stars while apps in apple's app store is 5/5 stars in comparison. You get better apps using an ipad than this android-powered superpad. In the laptop era, around 2002, I built a laptop using the hardware I found in desktop. It was not the best laptop out there, but It had 2.66Ghz intel cpu and 1Gb Ram. Well, this tablet is in a way similar to my old laptop. The Chinese people essentially use the hardware for a laptop to build this tablet. It works fine, but it is not really a tablet at all. In fact, It is a laptop enclosed with a compact tablet-like body without the mouse.
Here is a list of the bad things comes with this so-called 5 stars products:
1, Battery drains in standby mode. You need to turn it off the way how you should turn off a laptop in standby mode.
2, GPS has no use at all because after search days in the market place, I can't find any apps that can be use for this device. GPS probably works, but I can't figure it out how to use it.
3, If you are a kid or you have a pair of good working eyes, you can count the pixel one by one if you look closer. Screen resolution is very bad compared to my macbook screen that I am typing to.
4, Battery lasts about 3-4 hours. In comparison, Ipad 2 has 10 hours of battery time. This is for wifi turned on or watching movie. you will get more hour if no wifi and no video.
5, Android OS may be weird to some people. If you never play with an android before, and you are not smart, then you probably will have some hard time figuring out how to use it.
6, If you have an iphone, ipod touch or ipad and have got used to them, you probably won't like the touch screen of this superpad. The resistive touch screen is old school.
7, Apps is bad for this device, but I am going to write some good one for it. Just for now, you don't have any good apps for this android OS supperpad. The only good one and working one I can find is that popular angry bird game and it is free. This game is pretty boring to me. Full Review
